Peter loved college. It didn't have a lot of the crappy parts of high school and it had so many more cool parts. As nice as Mid-Town had been it didn't have a lot of the science equipment that NYU had. Sure he was only a Sophomore and couldn't use a lot of it but eventually he'd be able to.

So yeah, college was great. Sure he didn't have a lot of money so he didn't eat a lot of fancy meals and because he was Spider-Man he didn't get a lot of sleep but everyone expected college students to be kind of bleary eyed so that was okay. He especially loved his Mechanical Engineering class.

Okay it wasn't a class so much as an extra program thing over the summer but still, he really liked the class. You got to build some really cool stuff and work with people who were all excited about building things and passionate about learning and making stuff. Learning and making and freckles, that's what he loved about the class.

Technically the freckles were on someone IN the class but it counted. And yes all he did was sit awkwardly a few seats away and try not to stare at her but still, he liked being in a class with her. Rey didn't say much but she made some of the most amazing things he'd ever seen. Plus she was gorgeous and had cute freckles.

Which was why when the professor announced that day in class that the two of them would be partners on a project for the next several weeks Peter felt himself blush. Then he felt his ears burn red when Ned turned around and gave him a huge smile and a thumbs up.

"So, uh, so what time is best for you to meet?" Peter asked, turning to face Rey. "You know, to work on the project. Or to just hang out. Not that you have to just... yeah. The project. We should work on it sometime."
